i'm actually looking forward for this lenten season. not in the excited way when christmas is about to come. but rather in that quiet manner of wanting to share in the experience of God.
though i am not a person of prayer, i am a person of gratitude. every day of my life i am thankful for the things i have. for my family, for jan, for my friends, for a job, for who i am... God always makes me feel He loves me. and i know that many times i have failed to show that i love Him back. though i truly, truly do.
Lent allows me that chance to tell Him. Lent allows me that chance to give a piece of me for people I love. Lent allows me that chance to prove to myself my ability for trancsendence. Lent allows me to thank the One God for the ultimate sacrifice... the sacrifice of His Divinity and the sacrifice of His Humanity. unworthy as I am, I reap the benefits of the Cross.
my dear, dear God. thank You. grant me the guidance to journey with You this season. let me realize the intensity of Your love. and let me have the humility to accept it.
and to a wonderful lady there in Heaven, who passed away on an ash wednesday (feb 28), thank You for being our beacon to God. continue to give a good word to God on your babies here on earth, Rose. we could use the pogi points. ;p

Lenten Season is indeed a reminder to take a look back on all the things that happened in our lives. :)
