happy day

this is me with justine at the kythe party yesterday. xai texted last week and asked if i could recommend anyone to be a sponsor a kythe patient's wish list for christmas. having been a delinquent volunteer for the last year, i decided to be a godparent for the day to two children. one of which is justine, the other is jolina (who was not able to make it to the party).

my mom and five other friends also took care of six children, and giovanni is ninong to another boy. tatit and i shared the godchildren since everyone already had a sponsor for christmas when she found out (yey! many good hearts out there.)

i felt such joy seeing the face of justine as he held his toy robot that turns into an airplane, and moreso when he started playing with the yellow basketball i gave him. some other kids joined in the fun as well. which made me all the more happy.

imagine how a 32-peso ball can light up a child's face! Jesus wasn't kidding when he spoke about the children in the Bible. i did miss my mass obligation for december 8, but playing with justine for a few minutes felt more holy than most masses i've attended.

after the kythe party tat and i fetched kang from JS Gaisano so we can watch the city hall lights in Rizal Park. being a matina girl (cue put3ska), i rarely get to go to downtown.

the city hall and rizal park was all lighted up in various colors and shapes! santa on a helicopter. a reindeer prancing about. elves singing. geometric shapes hanging from a three. it was beautiful! and the photos looked like we could have been abroad (don't have the files right now though).

there was even free lugaw for the indigents and free carousel rides for kids and adults alike. care of tito digong (rody duterte). it's not exactly the best way to help people viewpoint of a social development worker, i commend the effort. after all, i don't think that was his objective in the first place. christmas IS about sharing blessings and spreadking the love, after all.

yesterday, i really felt like a kid again! i don't have many memories of the COD displays in cubao. but i do love christmas lights.

we also did two rounds of street food, kwek-kwek being my food of choice. in the hopes of becoming a superhero like super inggo. hehe! i also bought a trumpet bubble blower which gained me some audience. most of them get bored after a while though, because i still had some difficulty emitting a steady flow. the soap was too malabnaw. hmph. still it was fun, until this kid started swatting the bubbles with his slippers so near to my face. hmph. still...

yesterday might just have been the start of my christmas.

I will be off to manila tomorrow. Might not get the chance to post my greetings so I will just be an early bird...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
spread the love. feel the love.
*hugs* to all. :)
