surf's up!

Black Saturday.

It has been two days since we left Davao in search of a great Holy Week vacation, the beaches of Cantilan and Cagwait in Surigao del Sur did not meet the high expectations most of the gang had. They were beautiful, sure. But they could not compare to the Wednesday trip to Canibad. The bars has been set too high. Tsk. Tsk.

Until we finally decided to just go back to Lanuza and give surfing a try. Or at least look like I tried it, as evidence of the photo on the right. ;p But I did try it! It was fun. But...



I looked like this after.

A cut and a bruise on the chin. Caused by the sudden wave that had the board hit me on the chin and made me dizzy for a few seconds.

Bruises on the inside of the arm. From the board being swiped by the waves.

Bruises on the knees. From jumping onto the board from the water.

There are many other aches and bruises I can give you. But this photo is enough to tell you that it's not a pretty sport.

But it's heckuva fun one!
