as i am earning my keep for the meantime, writing my reports and recommendations for our schools in sulu and tawi-tawi, i have not the time to write down my adventures and misadventures. though i often find myself looking at the pictures over and over.
this particular one is special, not because it is the rare few pictures of me in the place, but because behind me is the edge of livable land of the Philippines. notice the waves behind me? that, my friends, is the mindanao sea. where i am standing is what they call the 'first island,' the portion of 'land' that shows up during low tide and leads to a sheer drop into a dark abyss. further on would be sabah (two to three hours, maybe).
cool, huh?
but like most beautiful things, there is a dark shady character that lurks behind. for sulu and tawi-tawi, it is more popular than its beauty. heard about the recent bombing in jolo? these people live with things like that almost everyday.
anyway, here are more pictures. they're perfunctory pictures of our school and kids that i want to show my boss who is in canada right now. the beautiful views of the sea, great sunsets and interesting seascapes are still buried in my archives and shall be paid attention too as soon as i free myself from the piled up work during the last two weeks i've been out.
ciao.

Hey! Kick ass, oversized shades! O goggles? hehehe. Pero bagay sa 'yo.=)
Inggit ako for so many reasons. Not because of the traveling. I guess it also has something to do with Kaladkarin's commencement speech.
Wow! The ultimate backpacker of the LHC. Ingat ka lagi sa mga paglalakbay mo ha?
tris: thanks. the shades are pretty cheap at P150. Natanggal na nga yung isang mata! Buti na lang na-aattach uli.
huwag ka mag-alala, inggit rin ako sa iyo. choices we made i guess, wanting other things but picking out what's best.
toni: medyo, no? never would have thought. sunod, batanes naman para tip to tip na. salamat sa pag-aalala. :)
