Mang Rudy is the 58-year old differently-abled triathlete (one of his legs is mechanical, thus his monicker “Iron Man of Asia”) housemate who was among the three nominees for eviction from the Big Brother House. Previous to joining the Big Brother house, he has been running and sometimes winning marathons all over
Typically Pinoy of the housemates, many nominated Mang Rudy for eviction because “kawawa naman siya.” I wanted to thump them all in the head for such a silly reason to nominate him! The guy has never complained, even when he was having blisters on his thighs from his mechanical leg (since they couldn’t wear slippers inside, his legs were uneven causing the blisters so Big Bro exempted him from the rule). While people like Rustom whine about sleeping on the floor. Sheesh.
Anyway, I (and Tatit) want Mang Rudy to stay since he has the most important statement to make. Unlike some housemates who just want to revive or improve their careers, the Iron Man of Asia can educate the masses about the differently-abled. Most of their exposure comes from segment stories on Rated K or similar shows, but none leaves much imprint to the viewers. His presence in Pinoy Big Brother house is an opportunity to make their cause known! Who knows, it may even push the Congress to pass laws that are more “handicap”-friendly? (pero suntok sa buwan na siguro yun)
So if you could spare a text vote (or ten) for Mang Rudy, please do. Just think of it as a contribution to the differently-abled’s cause.

ako, gusto ko si tatay rudy. alam ko na kaya ni tatay rudy ang ano mang task na ipagawa at pinapakita niya na ang mga katulad niya ay dapat hangaan. pero, part of me, mas gugustuhin na wala siya at all or hindi siya kasabay ng mga HMs na kasama niya. kasi naman ang marami sa mga pilipino, iboboto siya hindi dahil sa nakikita nilang kaya niya o kahanga-hanga siya kundi dahil sa awa. para bang nakakukonsiyensiyang hindi bumoto para sa kanya. appeal to pity ba. ewan ko pero ganoon ang take ko. naroon na ako sa idea na wala siyang pinag-iba sa ibang HMs at hindi dahil may kapansanan siya ay naiiba siya pero feeling ko hindi makatarungan for him at hindi rin makatarungan sa ibang HMs. share ko lang... hehehe:)
