Trying to tell another organization that you are cutting their budget because they were not able to meet the requirements is no easy task. Especially when personally you feel more for the partner than your funding agency. Being forced to do that left a heavy weight on my shoulder and a lump of uneasiness in the pit of my stomach.
After work, I proceeded to NCCC Mall to see if the BPI branch there is still open. Unfortunately not. I felt a chocolate mousse from KFC can give me that temporary lift from a stressful day. Unfortunately, there weren’t any. So I settled for three balls of Belgian Bites from Mister Donut which weren’t bad but was not of my preference for that moment.
Impulse told me to just waste my time inside a cinema and forget about my tiresome day. It was a battle between “Dukes of Hazzard” and “Sky High.” I’m not feeling Jessica Simpson (never did) nor Sean William Scott at the moment. So to end a stressful day, I chose the superhero teen flick.
Somewhere ten minutes after the movie, I forgot my whole day and was just enjoying the experience of watching typical teen flick movie about superheroes. A teen flick wouldn’t be a teen flick without the usual best friend in love with the lead, the bullies, the rebel, ms. popular, the cheerleader and the skinny geek. It was all there! And of course, your typical teenage issues of falling in love and finding your identity.
I loved the Sidekicks bunch, or the politically correct term being, Hero Support. Especially the dude that glowed as he made me snicker everytime his mouth opened to say something. And Steven Strait, the guy that played Warren Peace… a 19-year old hunkalicious!
Relax and see a movie does hold true after all.

Got hold of one review of Sky High. It actually rated well with 3.5 stars out of 4. Naks.

I enjoyed this movie! Typical plot nga pero ok lang. Natuwa ako sa kids. I love Layla's look. Very mother earth ang dating 'no! And yeah, Warren Peace is hot! Ang cute niya nung naka-ponytail siya tapos sleeveless top sa restaurant. Hehehe. Hot! Hot! Hot!
babypink: oo nga, eh. masaya nga iyong powers ni layla.
toni: true, true! i love her dating and her personality. flower child. aliw. and yes, warren peace is his most cute when in the resto. literally and figuratively smoldering hot!

so this is what they mean when they say REALLY TOXIC! I haven't seen a movie in ages. Last one I believe was Must Love Dogs with my sister and her friends...
my work is such a huge disturbance to social life - to watching movies in particular. I miss watching movies and writing a short commentary on them. I better do that soon, hopefully when I finally get out of Makati and get back to the world of the Jesuits -- kapag balik Loyola kid na ako ulit.
best pa rin though if balik Davao ako. Movie is so much cheaper there!
mkj: workaholic ka kasi! hehehe! tara, i shall be your movie buddy in davao. nccc masaya. pero less movies ang pinapakita.
see you here soon. yey!
